OPEN STUDIOS NORTH NORFOLK AND BROADLAND 2012

ArtiPasto, A Taste of Norfolk Art at the Atrium

Open Studios artists and makers from the North Norfolk and Broadland areas will be exhibiting a preview of their work at the Atrium in North Walsham on May 5th, 6th and 7th between 10 am and 4 pm each day.

The 3 day selling exhibition, which is open to the public with free entry and parking, launches the purpose-built exhibition area at North Norfolks newest Arts venue which opened in September 2011.

As part of the Norfolk and Norwich Festival, over 70 of North Norfolk and Broadlands finest artists will be exhibiting a wide range of fine art including paintings, prints, sculpture, textiles, jewellery, media, photography, ceramics and glass.

The venue was chosen for its airy, contemporary exhibition space and adjacent caf area bordered by glass walls and opening onto a large open external area. Light lunches, cream teas and refreshments will be served throughout the exhibition with all areas easily accessible by wheelchair and offering disabled facilities.

Exhibition organisers and participating artists Robert Downie and Claire Knight said, This is a very exciting opportunity for people to have a taste of the enormous range and diversity of work by the artists and makers who are taking part in this years Open Studios event in the North Norfolk and Broadland regions. It's one of the largest exhibitions of its kind in the County and we are delighted to have secured such an excellent space as The Atrium for this prestigious event.

The Atriums Community Arts coordinator April Vogel said, We are thrilled to be able to host this event as the Atrium Gallerys opening exhibition and hope this will be the first of many arts and crafts exhibitions that The Atrium will hold. Since opening in September, performing arts and the cinema have been in focus so its fantastic to see the exhibition area come to life with such a large and important show.

Exhibiting artists across the county will open their individual studios to the public from 26th May to 10th June. Guides to this years Open Studios offer full details of all participating artists across the region and are available from the Atrium, regional arts venues and Tourist Information centres, or can be downloaded from the Open Studios website.
