North Walsham Area Community Transport Association (NWACTA) is your local community transport organisation. Founded in 1999 in North Walsham, NWACTA strives to deliver a growing range of transport services for much of the area of the North Norfolk District, reaching into the northern fringes of Broadland. Directed by a Board of Trustees and managed on a day-to-day basis by a full-time Co-ordination & Development Manager, Paul Gray and Deputy Co-ordination & Development Manager, Catrina Bamford, NWACTA is both a Company Limited by Guarantee (No. 3924074) and a Registered Charity (No.1081117).
NWACTA provides a range of travel solutions for people who are unable to make use of any other form of transport (public or private) for any number of reasons, (which include, but are not restricted to), infirmity, disability, or rural isolation. It is a deeply-held misconception that NWACTA’s transport is just for the elderly or disabled; it is for people of all ages who want to travel but are excluded because they haven’t got the use of a car at certain times, live too far away from a bus route or, if there are buses, these might be inappropriate in terms of where they go and when they run. One of NWACTA’s ongoing challenges is to find ways to make the services more attractive to people below retirement age, and to younger people in particular.
North Walsham Area Community Transport Association is a partnership between Norfolk County Council, North Norfolk District Council, North Walsham Town Council and local Parish Councils.Company Limited by Guarantee No. 3924074 Registered Charity No. 1081117
