Located in the picturesque village of Horning in the heart of the Norfolk Broads, our ‘Log Cabin’ style Houseboats offer an ideal base for exploring the Broads and the surrounding area or just for sitting and doing a quiet spot of fishing (fishing parties welcome).
The picturesque village consists of a various shops, public houses, restaurants and tearooms, a hotel, leisure centre, boat yards and many thatched cottages line the narrow streets. The riverbanks are lined with luxurious properties which offer both residential and holiday accommodation. The river green offers temporary moorings to visiting boats and a place to sit and enjoy the views of the river and watch the sailing boats from the nearby yacht club.
Horning is situated on the River Bure in the heart of the Norfolk Broads. The village is just 10 miles from the city of Norwich with its historical Cathedral and Castle, the Castle Mall shopping centre and large outdoor market are also well worth a visit. The popular seaside resort of Great Yarmouth is just 17 miles away and boasts a long, clean, safe sandy beaches and lively funfair. Just 3 miles away are the villages of Wroxham and Hoveton which are considered to be "The Gateway to the Broads", and are also home to the famous ‘Roys of Wroxham’, said to be the largest village store in the world – a must for serious bargain hunters!
The Grand Lodge Sleeps 4-6
This is the larger of our two houseboats and is fitted out to a very high standard. There are two bedrooms, one double and one twin bedded, with ample wardrobe and storage space. The galley style kitchen has all the utensils you would expect to find at home, full cooking facilities and microwave oven. The lounge/diner is fully carpeted, has a pine dining table and chairs, comfortable three piece suite (making a double sofa bed conversion if required), colour t.v, log effect fire and french doors opening onto a small balcony with garden furniture. The bathroom is fitted with a corner shower unit, wash basin and w.c.
The River Lodge Sleeps 4
Slightly smaller than the Grand Lodge without the balcony, there are french doors in the lounge area, but fitted out almost identically.
