We are a North Walsham based conservation volunteer group that spends Wednesday afternoons working on a range of sites to the benefit of wildlife. We work at Pigneys, Sadler’s Wood, and Bryant’s Heath as well as about 15 other local sites. There is a pick up every Wednesday at 12.30pm from the carpark opposite the railway station. The work is outdoors and involves clearing, cutting, planting, burning, coppicing and generally clearing up using supplied hand tools. No special skills are required and everyone works at their own pace. You will get to visit some interesting places you will learn about and see a range of wildlife habitats and be given indicators of what to look for be that the small honey dew plants at your feet or large raptors overhead. The group is very friendly and it is a good form of exercise and the opportunity to get out into the countryside and so enjoy all the health benefits that brings.
