Bruff Hewitt flushing the surface drains in the North Walsham Market Place
(1911 to 1913 / North Walsham, Norfolk)
Dan Mount is shown completing his work of flushing the channels. The town drainage system consisted of such open channels which, connected to a brick sewer, led down Gas Works Loke to the small stream called the Town Drain. This stream flowed north from Northfield Road, formerly Catchpit Lane, to the river at Swafield.
