Last train through Station Road crossing

(July 1960 / North Walsham, Norfolk)

The last train through the Station Road crossing of the old M&GN, carrying with it the removed rails.
The train is followed by a crane on the road wheels which lifts each section of rail as the train crosses it.
(The railway came to North Walsham in 1874 - The L.N.E.R.)
